I am working in three webparts for handling alerts in Sharepoint, as advance here is first of them.

csegUserListsAlerts

This webpart shows

1) A drop-down list with all the lists of the Web site in where it is located.
2) The name of the current user
3) One lists with all the users of the Web site
4) The alerts for the selected list

o_csegUserListAlerts.gif

You can do:

Eliminate the selected alert
Eliminate all alerts for the current list
Add alert to selected users (specify type and frecuency)
Add alerts to all users

The webpart screenshot has texts in spanish but the download webpart is translated to english.

The next webpart would show a drop-down list with all users and your alerts. The third webpart is a webpart for information to show current user alerts.

Interesting Web Part.

We installed this web part in both an SPS Area and WSS site. We have come across some issues, most notably being a authentication pop up repeatedly. Do you have a suggested installation script?

After installing the webpart, we get a authentification pop up. After reentering the authentification we get a access denied. What is the Problem? Could a installation script help?

You need administrator permision in the site. Also check the the trust level, SPS sets trust evel to WSS_Minimal, the webpart use the wss object model and then you nedd change the trust level to WSS_Medium.
csegura.

Hi Carlos,

thanks for your hint.
i changed the trust level to WSS_Medium (< trust level="WSS_Medium" originUrl="" / >)but it does not work.

I did the changes in "c:\inetpub\wwwroot\web.config" and
"C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\CONFIG\web.config".

Have you any idea what i did wrong?

Thank you, Christian

Hi Christian,
the webpart only works with WSS, not with SPS.
I am looking for a way to set permission for SPS too. But I think it is not possible :-(

Yo lo estoy intentando añadir en un portal del SharePoint Portal Server 2003

Hi, my name is Fernando I'm from Uruguay and I'm trying your webPart, I think it's great and it works really good.
I was wondering if it is posible to include a deeper control of the alerts, like being able to assing alerts to documents rather to document librarys.

I work with a lot of people and it is difficult to make then assing alerts to themselfs, so I want to make this a task of and Administrator.

Again, great tool,

Best Regards,

Fernando
